Arabian Oil Company (AOC)
North West October Field Development

Location: Offshore Egypt – Gulf of Suez

Project description: Arabian Oil Company (AOC) has made a commercial oil discovery by its first well, NWO-1, drilled and temporarily abandoned in the south-east part of Northwest October Concession area in early September 2006 (“NWO-1 Discovery”). The well location is approx. 30 Km west from Ras Budran Field and approx. 15 Km east from Ezz El Orban shoreline in the Gulf of Suez. The discovered oils are 28° API and 32° API gravity from Thebes limestone and Nukhul sandstone respectively. It is anticipated that water flood will be initiated during the early stage of the development and that the wells will require the use of electric submersible pumps for artificial lift after 5-6 years from initial production. Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) was observed in the fluid from Thebes limestone.
