Deep Banff Area Concept Studies
Location:UKCS
Project value:Withheld
Project description:CNR International (CNR) is the operator for the Banff and Kyle fields. The Banff field is located in Blocks 29/2a and 22/27a in the UK sector of the Central North Sea, some 120 miles due East of Aberdeen. Water depth on the field is around 90 metres. The Banff FPSO is designed to accept oil and associated fluids from the Banff and Kyle fields for separation and stabilisation. A permanent Floating, Storage & Offloading (FSO) vessel, the Nordic Apollo is connected to the Banff FPSO, to provide additional storage and offloading capability. Gas is exported by pipeline to the main CATS 36" trunkline and onwards to the BP operated CATS Teesside Terminal.
Timing & duration: July 2005 to November 2006
Completion date: November 2006
Our scope:PDi assisted FMC Technologies in determining the pipeline/riser system configuration to meet the selected field layout solution. The Scope of Work included: identification and selection of optimum pipeline/umbilical routing and approaches into host facility and drill centres; preparation of schematics and pipeline/umbilical routing drawings; mechanical design of pipeline and riser system (including flexibles) required to meet Deep Banff pressure and temperature requirements; preliminary pipeline corrosion calculations and selection of materials for pipeline construction; definition of costs associated with new pipeline/riser base systems including installation, hook-up and testing costs.
