Project description:There is an existing 18 inch pipeline system from a Conventional Buoy Mooring located approximately 4.5km offshore to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Ghana approximately 6Km inland. This is to be extended to facilitate import and export of products from the existing Accra Plain Depot (APD) located approximately 5 Km from the refinery.
The project includes for:
- The extension of the pipeline to the Acrra Plains Depot,
- The introduction of a booster station within the existing system consisting of pumps, metering skids pigging loop and product tanks.
- Export pumping station, metering skids and pig receiver at the Accra Plains Depot
Timing & duration:March 2006 to July 2007
Completion date:July 2007
Our scope:Overall responsibility for the Project and Contract Management.
The project was split between the UK where the ultimate client is based, Greece where the EPC contractor is based and the site in Ghana.
The specific scope was:
Prepare outline Operation Philosophy.
Prepare engineering scope of work
Prepare contract documents for EPC contract
Negotiated EPC contract
Provide an integrated Project Management Team to:
- Manage EPC contract
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Fabrication
- Construction Site Management
Manage BOT contract with the Ghanaian Client
Manage and co-ordinate interfaces
Set up project management procedures and controls.
