The Lead Draughtsperson is designated to work to co-ordinate Draughting support to PDI Aberdeen​

Competency Required

  • Extensive knowledge of various draughting disciplines including but not limited to Mechanical, Structural, Piping and Marine
  • Acquainted with British and International Standards as relevant for the area of responsibility
  • Must be proficient user of Autodesk software including AutoCAD and Inventor. Must also be competent with the Microsoft office software

Experience Required

  • Extensive draughting experience preferably as Lead and a thorough understanding of the Oil & Gas environment is essential
  • Experience in Decommissioning and Subsea environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of Design and Fabrication processes
  • Ability to multitask on multiple projects

Qualifications Required

  • HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred


​The main responsibility of this position includes:

  • Lead Draughting Team in Producing multidiscipline, procedural and detail manufacturing drawings and sketches for project teams in accordance with company, British or International standards where applicable
  • Perform draughting checks on drawings produced by others
  • Develop and maintain the company’s Drawing Office QA procedures
  • Install and maintain CAD software packages
  • Maintain up to date drawing registers, ensuring compliance with the company’s Drawing Office QA procedures
  • Liaise with customers and or sub-contractors as required by the project
  • Attend design review / project meetings as required
  • Allocate and supervise draughting resources to various In-house and/or external project teams as required by workload
  • Input into tender CTR preparation
