Decommissioning Support

Decommissioning of Subsea Infrastructure in the Northern North Sea. Support commenced with a FEED study and followed on to preparation and submission of a decommissioning programme. PDi continue to provide ad-hoc support throughout the execution of the decommissioning programme.

Our Scope

PDi were engaged by a major North Sea operator to provide support decommissioning all subsea infrastructure for a major development. The field consisted of a 4km pipeline bundle, two towheads, a midline structure, six riser bases, a 4” flexible flowline, numerous tie in spools and jumpers. This was the first bundle to be considered for decommissioning in the North Sea.

PDi’s scope included:

  • FEED study to develop options and cost estimates
  • Comparative assessment and option selection
  • Development of decommissioning programme for submission to DECC, including stakeholder engagement and EIA
  • Ongoing support for the planning and execution of the decommissioning operations
