Project description

PDi were contracted to provide engineering support for both the onshore pre-engineering and offshore operations. All engineering was performed between PDi offices in Aberdeen and also MPL office in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Agbami field is located offshore Nigeria approximately 354km (220 miles) southeast of the city of Lagos. The field lies in water depths ranging from 1280m to 1650m. The Operator of the field is Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, an affiliate of Chevron.

The Agbami field is currently in operation with the FPSO and existing subsea facilities. Agbami Phase 3 Project will drill and complete new wells required to sustain the current production plateau. This required expansion of existing subsea facilities to accommodate the new well tie-ins.

Our Scope

PDi were engaged to provide engineering support for both onshore and offshore operations consisting of:

  • In-country engineering support
  • Development of installation procedures and technical reports
  • Flexible flowline & umbilical installation analysis
  • Structure deployment analysis
  • Structural engineering support;
    • Design of all seafastening arrangements
    • Design of installation aids and rigging
    • Design of hang-off platform
    • Underdeck strength assessment
  • Coordination of the fabrication of installation aids
  • Coordination of project briefings and reviews meetings
  • HIRA preparation & attendance
